Penang isn’t all about sandy beaches and blue skies. There is the exciting night life and pulsating music from the clubs which keeps the island alive and throbbing long after sunset. We had a problem as we didn’t have a car nor did we know the places to frequent.
Luckily we had someone who offered to show us around.

We were lucky to get a parking lot in front of Red Rock Hotel for dinner but no such luck along busy Penang Road. In the end E & O Hotel valets solved our problem. For a sum, they parked the car and made sure it was still there
when we came back. RM15.00 for the service if I am not mistaken.

After crossing a few roads, we arrived at this place. If you ask me where is this place, I honestly don’t know but it is within walking distance of the E & O Hotel.

We then entered this place called Uptown Pub and Bistro if I am not mistaken. It was great to be in there enjoying a drink while listening to the singers. It was incredibly hot outside along the streets and upon entry to its air-cond interior I heaved a sigh of relief. The waitresses were all young and may I use the word ‘vivacious’ eye candy.

After that we went to another happening place called Slippery Senoritas or SS by the locals. There were many foreigners in this place. I felt like dancing, made some moves and my companions all laughed
Thus ended my brief career as a night club dancer in Penang.

They all sang incredibly well. The pretty lil lady had a little wardrobe malfunction so she had to be careful. A very pretty lady and sang like a true professional that she is too. I was a little worried when the waiter brought us a bottle of whisky. Perhaps our host thought we all could drink. Anyway, in the end we had to leave early as we had other places to go. After all, the night was still early. But from this juncture, due to the ‘drinks’, my pics slowly went downhill.
We went to QE2 and Hai Nan Town after that but I will blog about it later.

I didnt know Penang has it going.
During my first trip to Penang some 15 years ago, I was brought to see some turtles baking under the sun and that was it.
I may be 18 years old then, but I felt like a 156 years old after watching the turtles poop their heads out in 254 seconds..
Hope to visit Penang again some day.
Dude, you dance in SS… errrr… u like dancing and going to clubs… we should go in KL lah. :p
Yes, bengbeng, there are better clubs in KL, though I seldom go.
