| From cemetery and columbarium |
I found this dog at the cemetery. It was lying down listless next to a new tombstone. I looked closely at the writing and saw that it belonged to a little boy who had died very recently.
A man who was there told me the story. The dog refused to leave the tomb day and night. Its owner had tried to coax it to leave the scene but it had refused. The dog continued to pine for its master, the little boy.
The little boy’s family had no choice but to bring food for it every day. Apparently this action of the dog caused the the parents’ much grief but to the dog, it simply had no heart to leave its beloved master. I hope the dog will come to its senses soon because I am told the dog has lost a lot of weight although it isn’t apparent in the pic.

this is so touching real life story..
hope the dog will get it over and go back to the family..
what a loyal dog…
Sad.
SK : unless it gets too weak and cannot resist the parents it is unlikely to give up
vincent: agreed
neo : i am surprised you would notice an article like this. you are the most down to earth person i know
I feel so sad to read this. I think I will definitely cry if I see it with my own eyes. Dog is such a loyal animal. The dog reminds me of my puppy who was murdered last year.
Poor dog, rich boy….
Dogs are very royal to his/her master … i think the dog will not so easy to leave the tomb… sigh!
He might just die in there … Sad sad …
Where is the place ?
Sad story. Proud dog. Is it in Sibu?
That’s man’s best friend… right to the very end. Someone close to the boy needs to stay close by, feed him and slowly coax him to go back home. Otherwise, he’ll just stay there with his master until his health gives way.
what a touching story. God bless the dog and the family. and i hope the god will go home soon!
This is indeed a touching. Hopefully the dog will realised that nothing can be done. I really don’t it to starve to dead! =(
So sad reading about this. Poor dog, so loyal to its master! Dog is indeed man’s best friend!
That’s so sad. It reminds me of the story my mom told me about my grandfather and his dog. When my grandpa died, the dog got depressed and lost weight. Sadly, the dog died a few months later.
I hope the dog in your story will be able to overcome its sadness.
that’s really really touching. this is probably the first time i am reading such a story. usually i see it on movies but never for real.
really pity the dog. hope the parents can coax it soon
*sad*
Choonie :murdered..that is terrible
dead cockroach : nothing to do with rich or poor boy. the grave stone on the right is a small one, belongs to the boy
Loh : Penang
Philip : not in Sibu
tz : ya..sad
LC : i tihnk is a foregone conclusion. the dog is not its usual self any more
Victor : God will go home?
tekkaus : it is fated
Foongpc : dogs have blind loyalty
philters : agreed
satkuru : unlikely i think
Rach : i hope so too
This reminds me of our last family dog. We decided to let our Great Dane go to another family home as we thought it might pose a danger to our very young children then. After a few weeks we met up again with the friend and were absolutely shocked and heartbroken to hear that our dog had passed on. Apparently from the moment our Danny was transported to the new home, he had refused to take any food or drink. He had literally starved to death. That was our last dog we have ever kept. Personally I do not ever want to go through again, the feeling of absolute guilt and pain of letting our family dog go when he was absolutely committed to stay in the family.
Hi Irene, thanks for dropping by. Sorry about the great dane. It must have been a shocker for u. It reminded me of my previous dogs too. Before I had Oopi, I had two dogs. Once Lucky didnt see Mrs BB for a few days, it actually walked up to the upstairs bedrooms to look for her. This is from a dog which had never entered the house before.
Anyway these two dogs were posisoned and a thief tried to break in a few days later. Nothing the vet did could help. Before dying Lucky plodded over to see Mrs BB for one last glance and died on the spot although it had been immobile for a few days.
Hi. i saw u won dong’s contest so i dropped by. congrats!
nwi, i read this article. for the first time in my blogging life, i got teary eyed. i also have pet dogs, so this story really touched me. thanks for this post!
Thanks for dropping by. Dogs have a fierce sense of loyalty. I never expected to win Dong’s contest though. I only wrote simple English and was basically just sharing my traveling experiences. But I feel great about winning it though
that’s cute bengbeng. dogs are indeed man’s best friend.
Hey thanks
. I was not really expecting to win as the competition was tough .
i feel so touched by this! thanks so much for sharing this
I meant the boy is rich because he has gained a faithful friend. The dog is poor because he has lost his master.
