Pesta Kaul and my Mukah holiday

2009
04.26

I am feeling sad today because I have lost a good friend. A faithful friend and companion. She tottered up to me and Mrs BB, looked at us before she left us. The whole family is in grief. I let Benghui blog about it to ‘let go’ a bit of his grief.

The house is so silent and quiet without Oopi. I feel the loss so much.

To not think about it, I will blog about my trip to Mukah and post some pics.

From Untitled Album

The road was very bad. Really bad not just some stretches but almost throughout the journey from Selangau junction to the Balingian junction. I was just praying aloud and thanking God I didn’t drive and chose to use the bus instead. The bus was half an hour late and we arrived in Mukah at about 2030. First thing I did was to look for the WC and guess what? It was locked.

From

Some blogger friends arrived soon after and took us to a place I don’t know what or where. There was a crowd there just enjoying the Pesta Kaul atmosphere.

From Untitled Album

These boys were selling colored sticks for about a ringgit each. They were thoroughly enjoying themselves.

From Untitled Album

We were hungry and had a chicken wing each, some noodles and a drink for a grand total of only RM5.00 each.

From Untitled Album

We stayed at Kingwood Mukah Resort. It is by the South China Sea.

From Untitled Album

The lobby was spacious and there was a nice ambience about the place. Definitely not a budget hotel.

From Untitled Album

We didn’t have much luggage so moving around was easy.

From Untitled Album

Our room had a sea-view. Very nice.

From Untitled Album

Spacious too.

I am so sorry to hear about Oopi.
I really feel for your son. Grief and loss is a hard lesson for a young child to learn, but learn it they must.
He’s lucky to have 2 very supportive parents though.

I thought the road is better than that in West Malaysia..?

it was a rough ride. for big vehicles i suppose is alright but most cars will suffer long term damage if the driver is not skilled

The road to Mukah is terrible. I think that’s the reason why I had only been to this town twice.
