Michael Jackson 1958-2009

Like many others I was totally stunned when I heard Michael Jackson had passed away. I will remember the moment as well as I remember the moment I heard Princess Diana had passed away. Michael Jackson after all was the man who defined music for more than a decade.

Michael Jackson was a talented individual. I still remember him from his Jackson 5 days. Other hotties like David Cassidy, Donny Osmond, Olivia Newton John had faded into relative obscurity while Michael has persistently been relevant in the music world. He was the stuff paparazzi dreamed of in their sleep. He was an original.

To his legions of fans, his personal life seemed like a mess. But they forgave him for it. They had few expectations of him. He represented a part of themselve, an era in their lives. They were willing to forgive him anything. The scandals which plagued his later years did bring a toil on his personal life but many of his fans supported him through his moments of crisis.

Of course few of us actually knew much of him except what his PR folks chose to let us know. But his life couldn’t have been easy or much fun. He was undeniably the king of pop.

Rest in peace Michael Jackson.

Hey I though so too that his demise was comparable to that of Princess Diana’s.

Both of them were well known thru the media

Surthrival …. thriving through all circumstances:-
In the spirit of Bumisohology (interconnectedness, survival, thrive and fate … SURTHRIVAL … thriving through all circumstances), I like to dedicate my 100th post in this blog to his memory:-. http://tinyurl.com/lbdreg

That is a noble thing to do

I was more shocked about Diana’s death because I did not expected it at all. Whereas for Michael Jackson I knew he had health problems before this, so it was not as shocking, but still his death left an impact on my Fri morning : (

when it is time, it is time.. it could have been me if my time was also up. live, enjoy life while we still can n provide for those who r dependent on us

he is the legend and the true king of pop, he will never be forgotten – his songs, his dance, his care for the children and the third world.. may he rest in peace..

Seems such a waste leaving before he can sort out his affairs regarding his children
