Eva Gabor, Green Acres and Zsa Zsa Gabor

Green Acres : do you still remember it? TV as it was 43 years ago complete with commercials. Compare commercials of the sixties with present day commercials. TV was white and black then, didn’t you know? :)

How many of you still remember Green Acres, Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor. Great clean entertainment of another generation for most of you younger bloggers :) Btw, did you enjoy the short comedy clip?

Eva Gabor died on July 4, 1995, aged 76, from respiratory failure and pneumonia in Los Angeles, California following an accident in which she lost her balance and fell into her bathtub in Mexico, where she had been on vacation.

Zsa Zsa Gabor is her sister.

The Gabor sisters are three famous Hungarian actresses:

* Magda (1914 – 1997)
* Zsa Zsa (1917 – )
* Eva (1919 – 1995)

The Gabor sisters’ claim to fame, perhaps beyond their acting careers, is that of serial matrimony: They have been married six, eight (or nine; one marriage was illegal), and five times, respectively. British actor George Sanders was married first to Zsa Zsa and later to Magda.

I was reminded of the Gabor sister, the most glamorous trio of sisters from Hungary when I read that Zsa Zsa Gabor is back home after spending six days in a hospital being treated for flu-like symptoms.

Her husband, Prince Frederick von Anhalt, said Monday the 92-year-old actress was treated at a hospital and released. He did not provide details on her condition.

Gabor is partially paralyzed from a 2002 car accident and reportedly had a stroke in 2005. Zsa Zsa Gabor had a middling film career mostly in the 1950s and has epitomized the celebrity who is famous for being famous.

In my opinion the only ones close to them in terms of beauty during their era was Lucille Ball and Elizabeth Taylor.

    Walking down the aisle six or seven times…reminds me of Liz Taylor.

    I have sometimes wondered if the feeling gets less special each time more we walk down the aisle or does it get more special
