I found this Sweetsauer Photo Hunt #2 It seemed fun so I decided to enter it.

From Benghui

1. A View from Above (looking down) A pic taken by my ten year old son.

From Fishing in Bintulu

2. A Macro Shot. THis is as macro as it gets. This is a poisonous snake and a bite can be fatal.

From gawai 2009

3. Laughter. Playing a game. A seashell is turned and the person to whom it points has to drink a small glass of rice wine.

From Fishing in Bintulu

4. Relaxation. I find fishing a form of meditation.

From gawai 2009

5. A Celebration. An Iban man is dancing the ngajat. The celebration is Hari Gawai or the Harvest Festival.

From Fishing in Bintulu

6. A Sunset. Awesome sunset colors.

From Fishing in Bintulu

7. Sun/Lens Flare. This pic was taken just after sunrise. The sun flare changed an otherwise landscape into a kaleidoscope of colors

From Fishing in Bintulu

8. A Bridge : A pontoon bridge

9. A Shadow. Man’s image captured in the shadow of his own body

10. A Garden. My puppy exploring the garden for the very frst time.

From Benghui

11. A Park. My family and I love to take strolls late in the evening when it is cool and largely deserted. It was also very dark when this shot was taken.

From Fishing in Bintulu

12. A Street Scene. There are two parallel street scenes here. One of the usual street scene and the other one reminiscent of a street in the boat. Customers send their bicycles, motorcycles across the river by boat.

From Fishing in Bintulu

13. Signage. This particular signage is the Malay language. It warns against parking boats here as it is only for loading and unloading.

From Fishing in Bintulu

14. A Summer Activity. My friends and I love fishing. In this pic, we have just arrived at the wharf.

From Fishing in Bintulu

15. A Summer Treat. The treat of course would be the fish that didn’t get away :)

From Benghui

16. Earth. Earth in a small flower pot producing beautiful flowers

From Benghui

17. Air/ Wind. Enjoying the cool air/wind outdoors while studying. It can get very hot this time of the year indoors.

From Fishing in Bintulu

18. Fire. Burning off of unwanted LNG

From Fishing in Bintulu

19. Water. I particularly like this shot

From gawai 2009

20. Something Vintage (pre-1980). These inherited pots are supposed to be very old and believed to contain the remains of people who have long moved on. How much is legend and how much is fact is yet to be ascertained :)

From Benghui

21. Something Made of Glass. In this particular case, I posted a pic of the dishes on my dining table.

From Fishing in Bintulu

22. Something Made of Wood. Wood being transported downstream to be exported

From Fishing in Bintulu

23. Something that Floats. The fish caught is tired after its struggle and is floating on the surface before it is pulled in.

From

24. Something Railroad Related. I live two hours away by flight from the nearest railway. So in this particular case, I had to use an archived pic.

From gawai 2009

25. Something Round. An antique drum used to beat out traditional Iban music.

I think it’s so wonderful that you participated because it gives people who don’t live where you are a chance to see new things. You captured some beautiful shots. As so many already said, your sky shots (sun flare and sunset) are amazing! It’s hard to believe you captured that snake. It doesn’t look too happy! Wow. I also really liked your something made of glass, relaxation, and your adorable puppy exploring your garden. Nicely done!!

Thank you so much for yr kind comments. I am so glad I joined too :)

I like your sunset the best and the drum was very unique–the snake, a little scary. It was fun to learn a little bit about your world through your pictures.

    Thanks for dropping by :)

I like number 6 cos it gives me more inspiration with its rich colours and meaning. I am an ardent fan of photography and art exhibits which might not surprise you. Somehow I am lazy to shoot photos or paint them anymore. Maybe I had too much of it during student days where I had to carry a B/W camera for few years and develop to print by myself. It was tough and became no fun really. So now, decades later, I start to enjoy viewing works of others. Very soon, I will be back to serious baking again!

    u r a man of many talents…baking wow
