I love this woman
Character : Late thirties and mother of ten
Ha Mee : I read your post . You are so funny. Nothing in life is free. It is obviously a scam. Who will give you a free two night and three day stay at a leading hotel in Sibu for nothing?

Just like my husband. We were at a shopping centre the other day. A beautiful young lady and handsome young man tried to give me some pamphlets. I refused to take it. My husband took one. Immediately they started chatting with my husband. I smiled to myself knowing he is very happy to have a young lady to chat with hum. Pretty some more lah. But he better jaga ( take care ) or I will kenak him betoi-betoi ( take action against him ) later. Hee haw hee haw

They gave him a lottery ticket or something like that. He scratched and I was so afraid my lao kung ( hubby ) will have a heart attack. He had won an expensive massage chair. All the sales persons from the same company came over and congratulated us. I thought I was like Datin J or something. Everybody shaking our hands and congratulating us.

The pretty young lady called the boss to send the prize but she was told the item was out of stock. She sighed and exclaimed sympathetically, “ What to do? What to do? The item is out of stock. Never mind. We will replace the item with an item similarly priced.” My husband was so relieved because he thought he had lost the prize.

I tried to pull my husband away. Nothing is free. Our ten kids were running around the shopping complex. Forget about the prize was my immediate thought. My husband was adamant. He was blinded by his good luck and the prize ahead.

We were told to go upstairs to their outlet to claim the prize. There it was , looking so luxurious and impressive. We only had to buy three items to qualify for the prize. It was all so easy said the salesgirl who seemed genuinely happy to see us.

Everything that we had to buy was more than a thousand. I told the lady we definitely could not afford to buy all these stuff. But she rightly pointed out that if we did not buy the stuff, we would lose our prize. I got so fed up I pulled my husband away.
“You can use a credit card and pay for three years. Zero interest”, she reminded me. I was so angry with my lao kung. A pretty face and he suddenly become so greedy.

We went for some chicken rice all twelve of us. We shared six drinks and the ordinary chicken rice plus drinks came up to a total of Rm104.80. This one in my tummy, I hope it will be a girl. ( rubbing her stomach )

That poor man got scammed by pretty face! Probably the prize being out of stock was made up..so as to entice people to spend.
All men are suckers for a pretty face ;P Just kidding ya!
scams are all around da place these days…gotta be alert and careful!
Well that massage looks great!
didn’t buy
This is definitely a scam! They always say you win a prize but the condition to get that prize is you must buy something. No free lunch in this world! : )
dont b surprised. ppl do buy upon receiving free gifts
Hahahaha
What is this? Purchase with purchase scam? Yeah! I have received such calls too recently. My most profound experience is when I was called to receive a free vacation in Sunway. Then again I know nothing is free so I rejected it. =/
ppl in Sibu have received calls related to Sunway too
Got to be careful with all the scams around when the economy is bad.
it is harder to make a sale nowadays. ppl have less disposable income
Aiyar~ Got scammed leh… To buy 3 things that each cost more than thousand to get something that is probably in lower value… Usually if it is free, it is meant to be FREE! To buy something to get the FREE item means they already charge it to the rest you bought. pfft.
i guess everybody needs to make a living
nothing’s free…very true
i wish it were free though
I know quite a few outlets in Delta Mall have practiced this strategy.
now that mry is no longer in Delta Mall i dont go there any more
lol.. yup.. nothing is free in this world…
i wish more things were free in this world
