We wanted to go back to Sibu before 2000 as the PM would be in town. We were curious about him and wanted to hear what he had to say if any.

Our next destination was Brooke Fort was Ng Meluan. It used to be an administrative centre during the Brooke administration.

The walls can be opened. I imagine in some by-gone era, some British personnel could have held hostile people at bay with a shotgun from this elevated level of the fort.

The kids loved to throw pebbles into the river and see how many times it bounces off the surface before it sinks into the river.

They all have some beautiful tattoos at some part of their body or other. Maybe I should get one myself. What do you think? A tattoo of an anchor or a mermaid perhaps or some wild ethnic design?

Seems like the river is not polluted…like our milky great rejang river. Better keep it that way for our future generations. Not many rivers in Sarawak are well preserved….
