Our next destination was Brooke Fort was Ng Meluan. It used to be an administrative centre during the Brooke administration.

The walls can be opened. I imagine in some by-gone era, some British personnel could have held hostile people at bay with a shotgun from this elevated level of the fort.

We then descended to a river beach. Victor’s attracting power. Or perhaps the young ladies hope he will break the impact of their fall if they should fall

We encountered this very kind lady who exchanged pleasantries with us. She was collecting wild vegetables for dinner.

The kids loved to throw pebbles into the river and see how many times it bounces off the surface before it sinks into the river.

They all have some beautiful tattoos at some part of their body or other. Maybe I should get one myself. What do you think? A tattoo of an anchor or a mermaid perhaps or some wild ethnic design?
