Omitofo. I am Ah Tuong.

From ah tuong

I have been asked why i have become a vegetarian. I always smile and not answer. What answer can I give?

From ah tuong

I was fifteen years old. A dentist extracted one of my teeth. I asked for it and he let me take it home. I showed it to my mum. Mum was horrified to see some of my own flesh still sticking on the tooth.

From ah tuong

Why was my mother making such a fuss over a little flesh of mine while we ate fish, duck, chicken, pork etc almost daily? Do animals not have a worthy life too? Where was our compassion ?

From ah tuong

I started on that day. I never looked back. It was a stumbling block too to long-term relationships I think. But it doesn’t matter. Some where out there is another vegetarian looking for one like me.

Many are like Bengbeng who are vegetarian on certain occasions and at certain times of the week, month etc. It is good but few can live a totally vegetarian life. I do take eggs. Being vegetarian has changed my life in some ways but I think in mostly positive ways.

From ah tuong

in this day and age, some of you might find it hard to believe. But I am a happy man. I live a happy life. i am healthy because of or some might say in spite of my vegetarian lifestyle.

I have no regrets. However my sense of smell is keen and I do find some smells overpowering due to my long abstinence from meat

ones or twice a week i go vegan.anyway i try to avoid those that looks like char sio or resembling duck or chicken meat, becoz we’re trying to go vegan and yet we imaging we’re eating char sio and thats wrong.for me,its solely for health – we had taken too much meat already

Giving up meat is a hard thing to do for me…but i heard from people that being vegetarian is also equally good as being a non-vegetarian in terms of health…will try out one day on being a vegen.

I have a lot of friends who are vegetarian, either by choice or religion. We usually have no trouble eating out together, since vegetarian food and halal food are plenty around here, some are even under one roof, so much easier for us.

Didn’t know you’re a vegetarian. I’m surprise. Because your food picture consist of meat too. I know it’s for Benghui.

You vegetarian? Serious? I don’t think I can live without meat. Just kidding. But being a vegan is a good thing. But you have to make sure your diet is well balanced lar.

I have a few vegan friends who contracted diseases over the years due to malnourishment.

    AT: I am healthy :)

  8. to be an oval vegeterian is very good.. though i m still not considered one yet, but i do take more veg. than meat.

my sis in law who is an oval vegeterian told us, if we consume meat, our STomach is the Tomb… oMg!!!

  9. Quote yr comment mentioned something abt our stomach being the tomb.. it is so true for so many jus that i never tot of it that way before :)

basically we r wat we eat, arent we?unquote

Beng2 so sorry you replied into my blog on vegetarians not relevant to my topic so I pasted here..

We do eat but better eat more veg. than meat.. u jst reflect it yourself e.g a chicken is slaughtered for a day or two, u frozen it, then cooked.. later goes into your stomach n digest slowly there.. isnt ur stomach is like a tomb collecting the “corpse” only that you believed it was a chicken you ate earlier… really yaks.. tat is why I seldom eat meat now though I do eat a bit but further to this, I just dont want to eat.. the thought of it n the blood of animals just made me sick!!!!

after reading this comment, i feel less inclined to take chicken now :)

  10. everything is up to you, no body can press you to do so.. to be a true vegetarian or not…
