Buying durians along the highway

I really don’t understand it. With this group of friends, food was always on our thoughts. It was present in our speech and it was evident in the way we looked lovingly at food whenever we saw food.

From Kabung trip

All along the journey, the air was thick with the aroma of durians. The road was narrow and it was dangerous to stop along narrow stretches.

From Kabung trip

These durians were sold for RM10.00 per bundle. Returnable if not satisfied with the fruit but the catch is that it must be consumed on the spot. The next question was who would open the durians? All of us could I suppose but in front of buddies doing such a macho task did seem a little ‘daunting’.

This young boy did the next best thing. He brought his mother.

From Kabung trip

She did it in a matter of seconds. She is a successful businesswomen. She told us her fruits sell well as she has a good location and she is building a new house.

The durian. When was the last time you had great durians?

Update : Accidentally posted this post :) It is like spamming my own blog. It was meant for tomorrow :)

oh i did not know that there are durians there. I thought that durians could only be found in the Philippines. I dont like the fruit but the by-product of it tastes good like the durian cheesecake and durian coffee (http://upto6only.com/2009/08/13/my-happy-cup/)
