Warming up, stretching exercises and a small meal before gym is important

i decided to go to the gym before leaving for work. I rushed over after a few biscuits. I have been very busy the past few weeks so i haven’t been going regularly.

From gym

Did a few sets of chest exercises with Leon Hii. Just couldn’t break out into a sweat. Didn’t have time for stretching or warming up. I had the strength and the power.

I really don’t understand it. I sort of felt short of breath. My vision blurred. I looked for a chair to sit and just lost it for a few moments. Luckily the gym floor is carpeted.

From gym

Felt better after the kau sua

Luckily Marcel was alert and knew what to do. Thank you Marcel.

From gym

Thank you Leon.

Readers who are regular gym goers, any comments? What happened?

Update: A reader asked me why my ping on Petalingstreet.org has a different title from this post. The reason is that I was unable to ping with the original title. I have learned from experience now ( correct me if i am mistaken ) that PPS rejects post titles with too many words, uses punctuation or words which are linked to ‘hot or controversial’ words.

I think you need a good medical checkup before you advance towards a good gym programme.

Wish there is a special gym for seniors…mixing with younger women who have shapes of Miss Universe is so de motivating!!

i will wait a few days n c first. special gym for seniors sounds a good idea

There are people who can’t sweat alot… but after some time of workout and sorts, they will start to.

Least I have encounter that before too. I used to not be able to break a single drop of sweat even after badminton… but after a few more sessions… I sweat like a “kerbau” :P .

nolah i cant imagine u kerbau hahaha

I suffered a similar fate only yesterday whilst hiking. Must have been a combination of empty stomach, lack of sleep and definite lousy stamina harharhar!

    Have a great new week!

Yeah, need to warm up before weight lifting too right? :p But I thing it is a little troublesome lar.

    sometimes time constraints

Might have been due to hasty runabouts prior to your workout.

Think abt this, rushing to the gym, only grab a couple of biscuits, no warm ups, less regular workouts prior, plus we are all not young 20 year olds anymore. At least I think these contributed to what happened.

I used to be gymm fanatic. I stopped though years back, switched to non-weights exercise regimen. Though I am only mid thirties, I can feel the difference, the drop in physical performance. I guess we need to warm up properly. But I might have been wrong.

Eitherhow Beng Beng, hv yourslf checked up at the doc’s if this persist. Take care of your health.

    Merry Christmas!

I have been so busy working for so many long hrs and when i come home i need a rest but Benghui jus wont let me rest :( I am so tired.

I symphatise with you, father. hahaha.

I havent gone up to that stage where my kid is 10 yr old, I believe I cant offer any sound suggestion. haha.

Well, find some time for a quick one hr massage during yr lunch break or whenever u can take a couple of hrs off from work to do so. I did that. It helps alot for me.

    Cheers bro.

I must be a freak then! I have a big breakfast at 9.30am, nothing to eat before gym at 1pm. Light lunch (sandwich or salad) afterwards at 2.30pm. No warm up, 1 hour gym session. Good dinner at 6pm. No problem sweating after 1 set of shoulder press.

Btw, unless you’re at least half a century old, you aren’t a senior yet! Ish!

You are not the freak. I am the one :)
