Hi,
I’ve a favour to ask, or rather a question. I’ve a friend who is going to be living in Singapore this year and working for a charity called OMF. He’s an architect and really interested in, I guess you could call it intentional community – he lived for a year at L’Abri in Switzerland and during his time in London he’s been living in a common house run by this really sweet elderly gentleman in Oval. There are 12 guys who live there, pull resources, do bible studies together, eat together etc. He’s also the son of English missonaries who were based in Malaysia for many years.
Anyway, he’s a really great guy, so unique, intelligent and genuinely interested in meeting people and seeking out some truths about God and community. He asked me if i have any contacts or know of any groups of people like those at L’Abri, or even a sort of home church kind or thing in Singapore or Malaysia that he could be in touch with. I didn’t know of any, but thought of contacting you and also some other friends i have in the area who are church goers. He is interested essentially in meeting others from home churches and Christian intentional communities.
Best regards :
Louisa
Update: Louisa is my niece currently based in London. She can be contacted at louisa.knight@gmail.com
erm there are many churches in singapore… just tell him to settle down first there and eventually he would find the correct place to go i am sure!!
I can’t help! But I wish him all the best.
Best wishes from me!
If he’s going to work for OMF, I’m very sure they will put him in contact with the right people, all he has to do is make a request to them. Or approach the nearest Church to his home in Singapore, after he’s settled in. Best of luck to this man.
Thanks
ECL might know something which can help, she’s so involved and knows Singapore so much. That’s the best I can think of.
