On the ninth day of the Lunar New Year, the Chinese offer prayers to the Jade Emperor of Heaven (天宮) in the Taoist Pantheon. This day is also celebrated as the birthday of the Jade Emperor. It is a day especially auspicious to Hokkiens.

I was trudging along while Mrs BB was of all things shopping for dresses, I would have expected this activity to stop now that Chinese New Year is over but apparently it hasn’t stopped. If there is one thing I don’t like it is going shopping for dresses with Mrs Bengbeng. She will find a dress she would like to try and then hand over her hand bag for me to carry while she tries it out.
