After coming back from the golf and country club, we were all bushed. I know some of us talked until late at night but both me and my room-mate fell asleep almost at once. I was also tired from the traveling and photo taking the day before

Woke up feeling worried. I was hungry and I did not know where to go for food. I needn’t have worried. There are two outlets for food. The Palm Restaurant and Bar and the less formal One Tree Hill Cafe. In the end I settled for One Tree Hill Cafe because breakfast there came with our package deal. It serves local buffet or set menus.

The minute I approached the cafe, out popped two smiling faces. Wilson and his friend. Like I blogged before, smiling seems second nature to all the staff there.

I am on a diet due to sheer necessity . This was what I planned to have for breakfast.

When I first saw this fruit, I hesitated to give it a try. It is passion fruit. You eat it with a spoon. It tasted wonderful. I had quite a few helpings. It made me hungry and I decided to have some toasted bread with marmalade too. I then thought since I have already broken my diet I might as well have some cakes too.

My friends were all enjoying their breakfast. I think the breakfast they had would probably be enough to feed a normal adult for one whole day. If I cannot beat them, I might as well join them I thought to myself.

In the end, I gave up and decided to sample everything.

The nasi lemak was alright. I think it was because I was already so full that I did not enjoy it as much as I should have.

I then had hard boiled eggs and sausages and …………… . I just couldn’t stop eating. after that. Instead of taking good pics, i made a half hearted attempt only. After all it is not every day I get to eat such a more than complete breakfast. It was a delightful change from my regular kampua or maggi noodles for breakfast.

By the way we enjoyed a fantastic view of the rainforest and mountains from the cafe.

That, my dear readers is the story of how One Tree Hill Cafe of Borneo Tropical Rainforest Resort made me give up on my diet. Well, at least just for a day. Hopefully. I swam a few extra laps today just in case.

Just before, I end my post, I just want to say I am surprised by the response from Sibu friends who read my post on the Borneo Tropical Rainforest Resort I have been questioned a few times today already. Apparently many local readers have ‘heard’ of it but never actually met anybody who has been there.

Perhaps it is due to the coming school holidays and parents want to take their children for a short holiday.
