I saw this trailer recently. It is a Thai movie called The Meat Grinder and it is scary. The lady vendor looks quite okay too just like somebody’s nice mother or sister. All of us have eaten out some time or other. We sit down and place our order. The food is served. We eat and then we leave. Some might burp in satisfaction on a good meal consumed but mainly we never give a second thought to the food preparation. We just have faith that the food vendor is trustworthy and the food is clean and safe for human consumption.
Then recently, I read in the newspapers a complaint by a reader who lamented that she happened to be in the kitchen and the cook didn’t even bother to wash the vegetables before cooking.
Do you make it a habit to check out the kitchen before placing an order?

First, I must apologize to readers who have commented. Thank you so much. I have been busy the past few days and I haven’t been able to be online much except in the hours after nine in the evening and by then my Celcom connection is sometimes measured by bps rather than kpbs.I will try to visit your blogs during the weekend when the net is better.
Anyway, just a quick update. The Borneo Cultural Festival 2010 is slated to begin tomorrow. I have also submitted a pic for the Durin Photography competition. I have also submitted a few pics for the Borneo Cultural Festival Photo Exhibition . My pics will be easy to spot. If they are good, they are not mine. If they are not good, there is a high possibility they are mine
Benghui is very happy in his new class and his weak subject, Mandarin is improving lots thanks to his school teachers and his tuition teacher.
A few days ago, I sent Benghui to wushu and promised to pick him up. But there was a long queue waiting to see the doctor so I was not able to pick him up so Mrs BB picked him up instead. When he found out the reason, he panicked and started praying hard. The last time this happened, I stayed in hospital for almost a week. I guess he was just worried.
But it was just a small matter. I just praise God that I have a wonderful and loving family. There hasn’t been a day when I don’t give thanks for this wonderful family I have been entrusted with.
It used to be that I would check my blog every day and I haven’t seen my homepage for four whole days
Guess blogging is no longer an addiction
another movie for the western side to borrow for their version. i actually like horror movies.
ohhhh i saw this b4, very scary, waiting to get the full dvd wen i go back hahahahaha
One time I saw a Sarawak laksa seller’s helper washed his hands in a tub filled with water and bean sprouts. He has just handled some dirty plates after customers have eaten. So, those bean sprouts would have traces of saliva etc from the customers’ plates and I presume they just pick up those bean sprouts and sprinkle on top of the laksa when they serve it.
Another time, the same helper after cleaning off the customers’ leftovers in the garbage bin and after having his bare hands on the bin, wanted to take my orders without first, washing his hands.
Ever since I witnessed those two incidents, I have stopped eating the Sarawak laksa.
This is a very disgusting movie … I think i will skip :p
yeah benghui is a nice son!! invest carefully on him ok? well you gotta take care of yourself also… the family is going to rely on you….until benghui is going to take care of both you and mrs bengbeng
I stay away from those road side stalls when I travel, just to be on the cautious side. Here all food vendor are regulated and licensed, all we need to do is call the ministry and lodge a complain and the vendor will be suspended and fine if any irregularities are found.
Thai horror movie really scare the crap out of me. They are way scarier than any western version.
Benghui is such a good, caring kid. He cares about his dad so much.
Good to know Benghui’s Mandarin is improving.
Work hard Benghui! Gambare! Hwaiting!
