I was stunned momentarily when I read what was printed on his t-shirt. God is busy, can I help you? The very idea of asking for help blew my mind. I looked closer and realized it was my friend Igat. I haven’t met him for a year .

Anyway this morning I was at Nanga Tong. I was told I was overdressed for the occasion in my heavy-duty jeans and sports shoes. Fortunately I managed to buy a pair of designer shorts in Julau for a princely sum of RM11.00 after relentless bargaining for 5 minutes.

Fortunately I had a spare pair of slippers to replace my new sports shoes.

I wasn’t prepared because other than the name Batu Matob, I had no idea what to expect or where we were going. In the end, because of safety concerns ( the river was ‘swift’ and there were many little ones around ) we opted to go to Nanga Tong instead.

We had to descend a steep slope to reach the river ( picnic spot ). Immediately after taking this shot, i rushed over to help them with the stuff. It wasn’t easy though because of the camera equipment I was lugging around with me.

The others were very sure-footed though. It wasn’t a problem for them. I was later to find out that the hardest part was when we had to ascend to go home. .

Very soon, everybody sighed in relief when they could put their things down.
