After a few 8-course dinners in the same number of days I am getting tired of eating out. Eating out is great as a form of celebration but do we need to eat so much? Perhaps it is because Sibu is a small place and we tend to wear many hats. It is not unusual to see familiar faces at different functions.
There are always the NGO linked dinners, the wedding dinners, the birthday dinners, the family dinners etc. It gets so complicated sometimes that I do not have a chance to finish cooking the food I buy at the market every weekend.
Do we really need so much food at every meal? I think we all get carried away when we gather together in large numbers. After all I don’t notice any of my friends or neighbours having 8-course lunch/dinner at home either.
We are all just putting on airs in public.
I have put on so much weight now that I have got back my appetite. Andy was counting calories for me at breakfast and reminded me that I had burned calories during the aerobics session only to gain it all back by eating a big plate of nasi lemak ( rice dish with coconut milk, chicken, chilli paste, anchovies and fried chicken ) Food at the market is not getting any cheaper though. I bought a black pomfret from my regular fish monger for RM15.00. When asked to explain, he told me it was RM28.00/kg. After I steamed it, the portion was only enough for a meal.
Enough is enough. I have decided to gravitate back to Andy and Ifit Gym. I had a great hour of aerobics this morning. All the aches and pains which normally come ahem ahem with old age is temporarily gone. It feels great to be alive.
I have also decided to go back to yoga class if I can reschedule my time.
Looking forward to better health soon.
Wish me luck.
