Although theoretically the Chinese New Year celebrations last for fifteen days ending with the Chap Goh Meh, Sibu as a whole has quietened down. The streets are almost normal again with only sporadic sounds of fireworks. The VIPs too have moved on to perhaps smaller towns.

Daddy and I woke up early to go to the market. We decided to make Penang hockien mee. There is no real hockien mee stall near my house. It was a surprise for mummy. Also to celebrate I had opened a bank account with my ang pow money.

Today is the third day of the Chinese New Year and Benghui has decided to open a bank account to deposit his money from his angpows or red packets filled with money. It helped that the government of the day gave each student RM100.00 cash. We have already visited a lot of homes and received lots of visitors. Today’s post is a selection of pics I took today.

Happy Chinese New Year. How are you all? In this pic I am in front of a frozen lake in the university compound. The university was a royal garden during the Qing dynasty. I haven’t updated for some time as I injured my arm. However I can now type. So it means I am better already now. This is the first time I am celebrating Chinese New Year away from Mukah and my family.

Congratulations to Frank and Claire.I haven’t been updating often. I have simply been having a busy but great time. First there was the wedding dinner of Frank and Claire.
I only managed to go to gym once this week. I was telling my gym buddy if only I could sing, I would sing a Chinese New Year song for you all my dear mylongkang readers.
