To understand today’s post and divination, one must understand that the original Sibu Tua Pek Kong temple was built more than a hundred years ago. The original settlers in Sibu lived a more ‘pioneer-like’ life under more basic conditions. There weren’t many if any doctors around or psychologists for e.g. I suspect there might have been fortune tellers operating under a tree somewhere near the temple etc but mainly worshippers used the ‘chien’ system.

Walking back to the car, Cliff decided he wanted to let Glenn pics from the top of the Sibu Tua Pek Kong pagoda. So off we went to the Sibu Tua Pek Kong. It is a Taoist temple. We were fortunate enough to meet up with Mr Tan Teck Chiang ( behind the counter ) who patiently gave us a mini talk on Taoism and what it meant to him and his life.
