Rainforest World Music Festival 2007

cool video of the first day
cool video of the 2nd day

Santubong hosted the 10th Annual Rainforest World Music fest this year. There were record attendances from all over the world and some had to cancel their attendance because there were no more hotel rooms available. Some sources say there were even counterfeit tickets for sale.

However it was a grand event. Watch this video for yourself. Cool! Awesome! There was a variety of world music from Zimbabwe, United Kingdom, Unites States of America, Scotland, Lebanon and others.

When it ended, the participants were reluctant to leave. It was a precious occasion when music lovers from all over the world gathered to do what they like most : appreciate music. Music is the food of the soul.

Uploaded by Magickman

I have just come back from Mukah with so many lovely pics for mylongkang readers ( at least I think they do look lovely :) but flickr is down so I’ll have to do with this short clip.

It is snippets of the best from the music festival. Enjoy. Assemblage of clips shot on a handheld Panasonic DVC32 during the 9th Rainforest World Music Festival in Sarawak. Featuring fantastic acts like Tengir Too (Kyrgyzstan), Bidayuh Bamboo Band Sarawak), Kilema (Madagascar), and Chungmyung Art Group (Korea).

Jim Carrey..a funny video I found on the internet

Jim Carrey - Lifeguard On Duty (SNL)
Uploaded by Van_Lock

This is one of the most ridiculous videos I have ever seen and after a while, it made me smile and then it made laugh right out loud. The antics of a life-guard at a jacuzzi :). Watch it if you have a few minutes to spare :)

Jim Carrey as usual is his usual self…..so convincing you forget he is acting :)

Lee Hom concert tickets in demand

Lee Hom

It has been said if you have a good voice, you will entertain crowds at charity concerts and karaoke centres. If you look good and can sing, you will enjoy a certain degree of success. But what happens if you have a good voice, handsome boyish face and a great smile, height and a sexy bod …… you get Taiwanese heartthrob, Lee Hom……superstar.

My five favourite movies..I been tagged

I have been tagged by Rye_urn and I don’t know if mine is the proper way to reply but i will try.

My five all-time favourite movies

1. The Sound of Music…. i love all the gaiety in the film and I absolutely adore Julie Andrews in the opening scene as she sings in the Austrian mountains ..The hills are alive…with the sound of mu… sic……… Christopher Plummer was of course his usual self..wooden but attractive to all the ladies even though the movie is ages ago :). I adore adore adore Julie Andrews even though she is advanced in age now :)
The sound of music

2. Cinema Paradiso starring Antonella Attili, Enzo Cannarale and Isa Danieli.. It is a film set against post-war poverty. There is something about the role of the projectionist…reminds me of the time when cinema was still relatively new.

3. Superman Returns…starring Kevin Spacey, Brandon Routh and Kate Bosworth..why does anyone love love Superman tales? A need to believe in some super powerful being :)
Superman returns

4. Return to Me starring David Duchovny and Minnie Driver. David plays a role as a widower who falls in love with Minnie who is the recipient of his dead wife’s heart.
Return to me

5. Shall We Dance starring my favourite Jennifer Lopez and Richard Gere. Jennifer really can move in this movie. Richard Gere’s reaction in this movie when his daughter shouts out his name in the middle of a dance scene is also memorable.

A review of A Night at the Museum by My Longkang

Night at the Museum
Uploaded by cool_cool_child

I was introduced to this movie by an artistic and musical person, a choir director and excellent cook. According to him, it is a good movie to bring a kid to watch. It is exciting to think of a museum coming alive after closing hours. There was so much promise in the concept however the director didn’t quite deliver.

Ben Stiller and Wiliams and computer-generated things that go bump in the night didn’t quite save the show. After a while, it became tedious sitting through the movie. However, if I had brought Benghui, I might have seen it through his eyes and my review might be different. He would have loved it. At least I think so :)

This is not a paid ad.
