Cibol - the Bintulu singing sensation

malaysian idol

I had so many visitors today and almost overwhelmed with the serving of drinks and titbits. Fortunately or unfortunately I was hardly noticed. All eyes were on cibol the Bintulu blogger. It was almost I could do to pry away a female’s hand away from his handshake or was it the other way around. You never wil know with Cibol. Luckily I have no daughter :)

Happy Chinese New Year from mylongkang.com and Cibolution.com

CNY Card

Chinese New Year is a time dreaded by many singles whatever their age. This is because it is the occasion aunties and uncles will ask them when they are going to get married. Singles are not qualified to give ang pows thus indirectly lowering their status in society’s eyes. It isn’t so bad when one is aged 30 years and below, after thirty the anxiety goes up and after 35 one is more or less resigned to fate. However it is a depressing time as all the attention is upon the family unit and kids.

Benghui meets wongpk.com

wongpk sugar bun

Benghui has been very excited. He got to meet a blogger whom he reads wong. He is back in Sibu on holiday and when he called us out for ‘makan’ Benghui jumped on the opportunity to make an appointment for Sugar Bun.

Wongpk is a ’sucker’ for children and soon Benghui had him wrapped up around his little finger. I can see Wongpk will make a good father when the time comes. I didn’t have much time with him as tomorrow is a school day for Bneghui and Mrs Bengbeng’s get out of jail pass was only valid until 2115.

But we had a great time exchanging pleasantries and blogging tips. We will probably see more of him as he will be back until the end of the month. Blogging is wonderful. Benghui and I made a new friend. :)

My dog hasn’t been well since an intruder came into my compound. A day later, the neighbour’s burglar alarm rang at about the same time. My dog Oopi gave a few miserable barks and just slept after that. It has been 5 days since the intruder incident. She isn’t her usual self.

A different look at established religions

view-from-tomb

KwangErn’s comment on this

Anybody care to comment? Personally I think it is not as simple as all that. I hope some readers will post their opinions. I am sure Kwangern would love to hear your opinion too. He is a great guy. Born and bred in Malaysia for 13 years. Lived and had fun in Belgium for 5 years. Had fun and went crazy in UK for nearly 6 years. What’s next? Building MuSMo for the future since 1.5 years ago in Antwerpen.

His comment:

Same with the churches these days isn’t it. Long ago it was AOG, now it’s Charismatic, but both have more or less the same set of…. Emotions is key to success, may it be good or bad. ;)

Personally, I believe that religion and God are two different things. Especially when you put Christianity in the equation. Religion is something habitual. Look at Islam, Taoism, Buddhism, or what have you…compare that to the churches we see these days. Any difference? Very slight.

In churches, there is still a symbol, an image of who we ‘believe’ in, same with temples. In churches, there are offering and tithes, do you think temples don’t have it either? In churches, there is a hierachy of individuals that are ‘holier-than-thou’, same with temples? In churches, your sins are forgiven through prayer and confession, how different is it to other religions?

Now, let’s take church out of the equation, and place God in the centre. What’s the difference? A personal and intimate relationship that surpasses everything that doesn’t require any mediators. Also, one must not discount the beauty of fellowship and loving thy neighbour as oneself. ;)

The saga of a Burmese Princess and The Bridge(Czech movie clip)

I came across precious today. Precious is a Malaysian who spends a lot of time in Singapore. I still don’t know the author’s gender but he/she writes eloquently and sustains a reader’s interest.

There isn’t much of a friendly look to the home page but the writing more than compensates for it. I rate it a definite worth a visit blog. I love to read stuff written here.
