Woke up at 0600 the next morning and found almost the whole camp in deep slumber. I promptly put on my authoritarian act and banged on all doors and telling them marks would be deducted if their rooms were not clean, tidy and neat. Instantly the rooms were a hive of activity. Rushed downstairs to see who would arrive at such an unearthly hour. Bernard Tham Kuo Ee with his egg tarts.

Bengbeng is making a comeback. Finally after being in and out of hospital for eight months, I have the confidence I have left the whole episode behind me. Tonight I attended a committee meeting of the Sarawak Chenshi Taijiquan Association. As usual everybody was very kind and warm.

I was in some discomfort but knew I would have limited chances of meeting my friends after surgery the next day. So I liberally overdosed myself a little with painkillers and they drove me to a little crowded place called New Lane.

Ever since I started this vegetarian journey, I found eating out with friends occasionally awkward. Here they are eating yummies ( KL hockkien noodles ) at a hawker centre while I have to content myself with bland stuff and ‘nice’ fruit juices.
