I bought this packet of kampua from the local stall at RM2.50. I looked at him preparing it. He used one table spoon of aji-no-moto. All that msg. For the three of us including drinks, it would cost us about RM13.50. A small fortune by my standards for non-nutritious food and its state of cleanliness a question mark.

The above paragraph is to explain to a friend of mine why I bother to cook breakfast. The above pic shows Siam noodles or Siam mee which I cooked yesterday. It was enough for eight helpings ( 4 breakfast and 4 lunch ) and cost me less than RM10.00. Cleanliness assured.

I will begin this post by acknowledging that a good friend is leaving us for some time. He will be based in Beijing. Take care, my dear friend. God bless you. We will all miss you and thank you for your selfless, tireless assistance all this while .

It has been some time since I started taking Sabah snake grass. My condition has improved tremendously. I am virtually pain-free now although I know I am not totally cured. I have made plans to have an operation in West Malaysia when the time is right.

From my weekend

I am not feeling too good today. Diarrhea. I had supper in a new place last night. Perhaps the food didn’t agree with my system.

pre mix cement

I was driving along when I saw a jungle frond. I don’t know the name but I wanted it. I asked for permission to salvage it. They must have thought I was nuts. To them it is probably rubbish. This is the third one I have collected.

“That’s it”, I told Benghui last night. You wake up early tomorrow and do some gardening. He was still watching a Korean series movie Happy Together.

Oh boy, how I regret that statement. At 5.30a.m. , he woke me up. Is there a fire, is mummy sick, is grandma’s leg ok were the first thoughts on my mind. My heart went to fast mode.

Benghui : Daddy, i want to work in the garden.

I thought to myself I started the whole thing so I must see it through. True enough, he worked hard. I tried to put the dog in the cage because Oopi was so excited and tried to give us sneak licks. It resisted all attempts to force it to enter its cage. Benghui took Oopi’s plate and made as if to go to the cage. Oopi went in immediately.

Benghui : You see daddy, mummy always does it like this giggle giggle.

I need gardening tip – pomelo

2007
03.04

Technically this isn’t a post. I just hope to receive feedback. This is a pomelo which I planted about 3 years back. My land is clayish. It is very hard but my mangoes and other stuff seem to be doing ok.

pomelo5

This is a pic of the leaves. There is a slight discolouring.

pomelo1

This is the fruit. It is also the first fruit. I knew there was something wrong when it felt lighter than it should. The size is alright.

pomelo2

As you can see , it is the pink variety. it is disappointing as the skin is so thick but that can’t be helped. We didn’t know that when we planted it. It can’t be helped.

pomelo3

When we removed the outer covering, as you can see for yourself. It is very dry. But the fruit itself is not old etc. Is there something I can do or add or something to make it better? I cannot understand this.

pomelo4

Some feedback please.
