From Pusa
The river is very much a part of the lives of the Kampung Pusa villagers. They need to cross the river to reach Pusa. They could travel by road to Spaoh but it is very far comparatively.

For many of us, initially marriage seems like a bed of roses. No expense is spared in planning for the wedding. It has to be perfect to the smallest detail. The honeymoon soon fades away however when kids invade the family space. With kids come headaches and responsibilities. Inevitably the parents always dig up from resources from deep down somewhere they never existed to mould and guide the kids whilst at the same time realize their interests always come second to the needs of the kids.

From Fishing in Bintulu
Yesterday I went on a weekend fishing trip to Bintulu. I was supposed to leave my home at 5.00 a.m. to pick up my friends. I was a little worried I wouldn’t be able to wake up so I set the alarm at 4.00a.m. Woke up at 4.00a.m. and decided it wouldn’t cause any harm to sleep a few more minutes. At half past five I was awakened by my friend’s call.

In life the rich will always say wealth is immaterial to a good life while the poor slog on day and night a life-time or until the next generation lifts them out of poverty or providence deals them a good hand. But money is almost everything in life. If money weren’t important, why are the majority of us still working and slogging day after day?

I received this comment from LC Teh a blogger friend. In reference to Fei Yu Chin single status and his apparent happiness with his present lifestyle. He wrote : He’s another “evergreen” like Cliff Richard. Don’t get married and you’ll never grow old, it seems….. It is an interesting thought.
I will leave this post as a forum for you to give your opinions.

From cemetery and columbarium
I found this dog at the cemetery. It was lying down listless next to a new tombstone. I looked closely at the writing and saw that it belonged to a little boy who had died very recently.
A man who was there told me the story. The dog refused to leave the tomb day and night. Its owner had tried to coax it to leave the scene but it had refused. The dog continued to pine for its master, the little boy.
The little boy’s family had no choice but to bring food for it every day. Apparently this action of the dog caused the the parents’ much grief but to the dog, it simply had no heart to leave its beloved master. I hope the dog will come to its senses soon because I am told the dog has lost a lot of weight although it isn’t apparent in the pic.
The first thing I saw when I arrived in Sungai Petani was this building extension for swiftlet cultivation. Felt just like home.

We felt so welcome. They were so graceful, polite and may I use the word ‘gentle’. It was an honor to be their guests. In fact I find it is always an honor to be their guests.
This is Lai Meng in a scene from Money Not Enough 2. What shall we do with our parents when they grow old and feeble? Will you sign them up in an old folks home? Would you like to be assigned to an old folks home? Remember what goes around comes around.
But real issues are discussed in this movie. A Singapore producton, it is a hard-hitting jab at the realities of modern living and our evolving modern day values.
Lai Meng as usual is at her best in front of a camera. I can remember her back to the days of the weekly series, Empat Sekawan or Li Kor Bo Wa Eh Kor literally translated meaning your troubles are not mine. She has outlived most of her own peers on television. I wonder what happened to Ah Ying. Does anybody know?
Lai Meng is on the list of artistes who receives pension under a scheme for ageing artistes.
