photohunters2mo1

What is that? Can’t believe your eyes? Bengbeng had an opportunity to take pics of beautiful women? I plucked my courage to ask these beauty queens who were in town last year for Miss Tourism World if it was ok to take pics of them. They were pleased to oblige and pose for mylongkang.com

What is that? Pics of crabs on the beach.

prawn big

What is that? This kind woman posing with a big prawn. I wonder if the correct word is prawn? It is a big one, don’t you think so?

This week’s theme is support. To me instant food manufacturers play an important role as a support for small, busy families who don’t have much time to cook.

I knew the time had come to prepare for this week’s theme ‘pointed’. I have some shots done ;) hastily. Sorry tnchick Instead I specially prepared a video for my photohunter friends from all over the world. The sights and sounds of Borneo Sarawak. Listen to the sounds and sight of our local musical instruments blended with the new and modern. For music enthusiasts I am sure it will be a new experience. Puteri Santubong the name of the song means Princess Santubong who is remembered forever in a legend.

selling food

Driving from Bintulu to Sibu can be very tiring especially when it is very hot. So I was relieved when the driver decided to stop at a school to ‘rest’ for ten minutes. I took the opportunity to take a few pics.

I felt very ‘uncle’ surrounded by all these young and bright faces. Their bright smiles were contagious. For a moment I permitted myself the luxury of imagining myself the same age as them. When times were simpler and I was contented with so little.

kuta beach bali

This week’s theme is self (yourself or part of you). This week I highlight my big tummy. My kid says I eat too much. It is a constant battle to keep my weight down. If I let my guard down I will balloon out to 90kg or more easily in a matter of weeks. And I feel hungry especially early in the morning. I once had high cholesterol and a heart scare.

Photohunters: shoes

school shoes

What you see here are four pairs of innocent-looking shoes :). The scenario repeats itself every weekend. I will remind him to wash his school shoes. I will nag and nag until he does it. If he had a choice, the shoes would never be washed until a century from now.

My wife asked me why not just do it for him and it would be cleaner unlike its present state and condition. The reason is that I want to teach him to be self reliant and not to take us for granted. So that he will appreciate what we do for him and that we are not his personal maids and assistants. :)

dying bees

This morning I woke up and found lots of giddy bees all over my compound dying. There is a smell in the air. I wonder what is happening. Is it because of the haze or is it because of a local situation. It is weird. I had to sweep the whole compound as to step on them would cause much pain as their stings are still potent.

Photohunters : Candy

Teachers Day is celebrated in my son’s school today. He came home very happy. There was a grin on his face. Like some one who has found a fortune. I asked him why he was so happy.

candy

Apparently there was a party in his classroom and every kid was encouraged to at least bring something for the class party. There were lots of left overs and the teacher gave them to the kids to be taken home.

It takes just a little to be happy when one is a child :)
