Technology is among others:

the branch of knowledge that deals with the creation and use of technical means and their interrelation with life, society, and the environment, drawing upon such subjects as industrial arts, engineering, applied science, and pure science.
2. the terminology of an art, science, etc.; technical nomenclature.
3. a technological process, invention, method, or the like.
4. the sum of the ways in which social groups provide themselves with the material objects of their civilization.

From Kabung trip

In the past, cows had to walk along the streets guided by the herder who had to exercise enormous patience.

From Kabung trip

Now technology has made it possible for cows to be transported in lorries and other motorized transport. Incidentally today is Hari Raya Korban. These cows will probably be slaughtered to mark this day of sacrifice and its meat shared out with the community.

This week the theme for photohunters is army or military. According to dictionary.com army means among others any body of persons organized for any purpose e.g. an army of census takers.

I don’t have any pics of the army or military. So I have to do a spin, a big, big spin :) on the theme. This is a pic from my blog taken by my sister. Does it qualify for the theme?

This week’s theme is bags. It was difficult for me to chose for I realized in almost every roll of film there would be somebody holding a bag or something. How can we survive without bags? As I couldn’t decide, I decided to post all the pics :)

This week’s theme is tied. For this week’s entry I submit the following pic.

From Untitled Album

An elderly couple busy repairing fishing nets. When all the knots are tied, we can safely say the fishing nets are repaired.

From photoshop

Then I thought of this pic. I didn’t want to overtake this heavily laden lorry. The logs are tied with ropes but I don’t trust ropes like these in the event of an emergency. I wouldn’t be brave. I would be foolhardy

Photohunters: words and the joy of lanterns

From photohunters -

The theme this week for photohunters is ‘words’. My entry this week is a view from a Taoist temple. Looking down from the top of the pagoda, I saw Nescafe signs on boats plying the mighty Rejang River. The word ‘Nescafe’ has become instantly recognizable to all inhabitants along the length of the mighty Rejang . Cheap but effective advertising all year round.

Alternatively I decided to do a spin on the theme. It is sometimes said a pic speaks more than a thousand words. The following pics show the joy of discovering lanterns for the first time in their lives.

This week’s theme is twisted. I was at the first Borneo Lantern Festival and I saw this dragon transplanted to Earth. It is made of twisted metal and brightly coloured lights. I guess this pic therefore qualifies.
