My emotions have been dealt a blow. I no longer feel secure for my future of my family or the country. I definitely do not feel as confident as the boy in this picture. Emotions : insecure

Photohunters:bad hair

photohunters2mo1

This week’s theme is bad hair. For this week’s entry I submit this pic of an uncombed boy combing a dog with uncombed hair. I was thinking perhaps framed by the doorway it makes for an artistic shot ;)

kuta beach bali

This week’s theme is self (yourself or part of you). This week I highlight my big tummy. My kid says I eat too much. It is a constant battle to keep my weight down. If I let my guard down I will balloon out to 90kg or more easily in a matter of weeks. And I feel hungry especially early in the morning. I once had high cholesterol and a heart scare.

Photohunters: shoes

photohunters2mo1

school shoes

What you see here are four pairs of innocent-looking shoes :). The scenario repeats itself every weekend. I will remind him to wash his school shoes. I will nag and nag until he does it. If he had a choice, the shoes would never be washed until a century from now.

My wife asked me why not just do it for him and it would be cleaner unlike its present state and condition. The reason is that I want to teach him to be self reliant and not to take us for granted. So that he will appreciate what we do for him and that we are not his personal maids and assistants. :)

dying bees

This morning I woke up and found lots of giddy bees all over my compound dying. There is a smell in the air. I wonder what is happening. Is it because of the haze or is it because of a local situation. It is weird. I had to sweep the whole compound as to step on them would cause much pain as their stings are still potent.

Photohunters : Candy

Teachers Day is celebrated in my son’s school today. He came home very happy. There was a grin on his face. Like some one who has found a fortune. I asked him why he was so happy.

candy

Apparently there was a party in his classroom and every kid was encouraged to at least bring something for the class party. There were lots of left overs and the teacher gave them to the kids to be taken home.

It takes just a little to be happy when one is a child :)

Photohunters: uninvited visitors but a familiar sight

photohunters2mo1

Apart from my family, other beings too inhabit my home. I generally do not place too much importance on them. As a rule, we do not kill these creatures unless we absolutely have to or accidentally step on them. We try to keep them out by using netting at the windows. Insecticides are taboo in my home. I am just sharing with you some of the fellow inhabitants of my humble home and garden.

Photohunters-theme: Time: Alarm clock and a birthday cake

photohunters2mo1

This week’s theme is time. I have submitted two entries. The first one is an arrangement done by my son on top of the idiot box. I asked him to clear up his toys or I would throw them away. He put them on top of the tv.

birthday cake

The second one is a birthday cake. Time has really moved on. It is amazing that another year has gone by and by tomorrow he would be already nine years old. Praise God for protecting him all these difficult years.

Have a great weekend every body.

Photohunters: signs

photohunters2mo1

Ths week’s theme is signs and preferably funny. For this post I have no entry and while thinking about it during a company meeting, I was doodling and as expressions on people’s faces are signs of a person’s feelings, I submit the following three pieces :) I am no artist. :( But people’s expressions are unique and funny :)

Tropical flowers, fruit trees and cactus-Photohunter’s

photohunters2mo1

This week’s theme ‘13′ is very difficult for me. In the end I had to settle for 13 pics from my garden. As I live in Malaysia, you can see everything is very lush and fertile. ( just an excuse for not keeping my garden in a neat and trim condition. If the truth be told, I have just cut my grass my grass and feeling very tired :) )

Anyway, please excuse my 5 minute photo-taking spree and thanks for coming over.

Photohunters:jungle ferns,dragon fruit and weeds

photohunters2mo1

This week’s theme is twist (ed)

fern shoot

This is a shoot of a fern. It is just budding and twisted. I love ferns like this for decorating the garden. This is the second one I got. I spied upon it near a pig farm this week. It was up there on a tree just waiting for me and perfectly formed. I asked for permission and the owner was more than glad to oblige. We know each other for a few years already. He promised me two more next week. I am so happy.

This is how the jungle fern looks like from a non close-up view.

dragon fruit

Another entry would be this experiment of mine : my dragon fruit. It is so twisted and stunted in its growth. :( It just doesn’t grow well in my garden no matter how much fertilizer I give it. Perhaps I might transfer it to another spot and just hope for the best? :)

orange skin weed

This is not relevant to the post. I noticed this weed while looking for pics for stunted in my garden. These weeds sprouted flowers that look like peeled orange skins. Isn’t it cool? Normally I would throw this weed away so I never saw the flower until today.
