I was at the check-out point when an elderly gentleman turned up. He was carrying a light blue helmet with black runner lining, short sleeved shirt not tucked, black pants, black shoes, and not a receeding hair out of place. He looked very clean and neat.

In a soft voice, he humbly apologized and explained his predicament to the cashier. This morning he had bought 6 packets of xxx brand name soya bean milk. It was as a surprise for his grandchildren. But when the kids had it, they discovered it was spoiled. He lost a lot of face and it was also potentially dangerous to the kids’ health.

Art of negotiation with a China man

I was at a coffee-shop. A man came over neatly dressed aged about 30 years old. He spoke with a China accent.

May I sit with you? I looked over and there were umpteen empty tables around. I suppose I had a puzzled air? Who is this guy I asked myself? Is he someone I have forgotten? Read more »

Until one day I met a guy. This guy who for convenience sake I shall call So Lye. The minute I met him, I felt like I had known him forever. His face was unfamiliar and when I checked our backgrounds, I couldn’t have known him. I asked for his family name and it rang no bells. Read more »

Intimate pillow talk : Fear of AIDS after a holiday in Bangkok

I can type for hours but if you ask me to pillow talk, it is just not my style….except for just one encounter : on the train from Butterworth to Kuala Lumpur.

My mind was full of stuff I was going to do the next day. The next week, the next month, the years to come :) . After all, why not? I was happy and contented with what I had. Read more »

The pretty fortune teller from China

After doing yoga where I clumsily almost made a head stand :) I rushed off to town to photocopy some stuff. I did manage not to fall like a sack of potatoes..which isnt too bad although I heard some of the ladies giggling as I left the yoga room.

There was no parking space so I had to wait in the car while waiting for my stuff to be photocopied.

Pretty Chic

Suddenly I noticed this young Chinese girl trying to make eye contact with me :) I looked at myself in the mirror. Was there something wrong with my appearance? Could she be actually be interested in me? I looked behind the car and there was nobody.
