82 year old woman dies after being hit by son’s girlfriend

In police custody here in Sibu is a very sad and despondent lady. I don’t know her so I can only tell you what has been printed in the press.

She went to her boyfriend’s house in Rejang Park very early in the morning on 28th January and called out for him a few times from outside the house. No lady does that so we can assume that something was not right. The boyfriend’s mother Kuan Sim Moi came out and some angry words were exchanged.

The young lady allegedly then hit the 82 year old with her helmet.

The old lady sustained a cut on her head and was warded in hospital. She died yesterday. The case has been classified as murder under section 302 of the Penal Code that carries the death penalty.

Deputy Education Minister is a man not to be trifled with. When he found out about the case of the 16 year old boy, Matteus Merring in Bintulu who was murdered in SMK Teknik’s school premises, he flew down personally to investigate the circumstances.

The school says that it is not a case of bullying but as a result of a quarrel. Eighteen students aged 16 and 17 are still in police custody and remand has been extended until Feb 7.

The single mother, Rose Kundu Bedindang who earns only RM300 a month received a donation of RM5000 from the Takaful Pelajar Sekolah Malaysia. The Education Ministry was helping by paying RM250 a month to the two schooling younger siblings of Matteus . The youngest has a hole in the heart.

Datuk Nor : The Education Ministry is not treating student’s death lightly. Errant teachers to face the music.

It is a sad story and I have been mulling over it. Today I read an interview with his brother and I felt more ready to post this article.
