Thousands thronged the Chinese Cultural Festival venue to see for themselves and welcome the new Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. Datuk Seri told the crowd he had gone to the pasar malam to witness for himself Sibu society and was pleased 1Malaysia concept was in practice.

| From life is a journey |
Uncle Dee invited me to follow him on a trip to the hinterlands of Sibu. The local churches are often approached by rural communities who have too limited resources to set up a church of their own. Living in isolated areas, sometimes the nearest church is a few hours away by road. Anyway we stopped by the road to pick up members of the congregation from the various longhouses.

Yesterday I went on a weekend fishing trip to Bintulu. I was supposed to leave my home at 5.00 a.m. to pick up my friends. I was a little worried I wouldn’t be able to wake up so I set the alarm at 4.00a.m. Woke up at 4.00a.m. and decided it wouldn’t cause any harm to sleep a few more minutes. At half past five I was awakened by my friend’s call.

It was time for the sun to set. I managed to get these shots from the moving vehicle by cupping the lens and placing it as close to the window as I could. I was very careful though. An unexpected jolt or a pothole would mean …. bye-bye lens. It was so dusty opening the window was not an option.

I was invited to have a weekend in Tanjung Manis and Belawei. I thought it was a good idea so I readily agreed. As we had to reach the bus station early, I found it difficult to sleep. I was afraid I would oversleep.

I am feeling sad today because I have lost a good friend. A faithful friend and companion. She tottered up to me and Mrs BB, looked at us before she left us. The whole family is in grief. I let Benghui blog about it to ‘let go’ a bit of his grief.
