ABC – a desert made of ice shavings, syrup and cut fruits
Alamak – a phrase used like the English term, ‘oh dear’or ‘oh my God’
Ang tow peng – ice shavings with crushed red beans
Borak-borak – chit chat
Belacan – shrimps or small fish which has been pounded, salted and formed into cakes to be used for flavouring food
Cempedak -a tropical fruit sometimes covered with flour to make fried cempedak. pulp is orange-yellow in color
Cha koay teow – deep fried flat noodles
Dabai – a small black fruit usually warmed in hot water then eaten with salt or black bean sauce
Duku – a small sweet fruit
Durian – the king of tropical fruits. it emits a pungent smell and very popular fruit.
Emparau -a fresh water fish from Kapit : usually very expensive
Dusun – fruit orchard
Goh Teow Lor – fifth street or a slang name for a particular street in Penang.
Haiya or aiya – a swear word
Hakka – one of the Chinese dialects or Khek.
Kopi – coffee
Kopitiam – coffee shop
Laku – can sell well
Langsat – a small sweet fruit which is sweet and has a golden yellow skin
Mamak – Indian Muslim
Mat Rempit – a general term given to a man/woman who loves to ride fast on a motorcycle, often in groups and love to race on the streets.
Menteri Besar – chief minister
Midin/bidin – a type of local vegetable
Nangka – a tropical fruit. very sweet and the pulp is yellow in colour
Neslo – a local drink using nescafe and milo
Parang – a sharp knife which can be used to chop down trees or to clear the jungle
Pau – a dumpling or bun with a choice of fillings according to taste
Paku – a type of local vegetable
Pokai – broke or no more money
Rambutan – a tropical fruit with red skin and hairs all over the skin. inside the pulp is white covering a seed
Roti canai – a type of bread that is dipped in curry sauce
Semah – a type of fresh water fish from kapit, very expensive
Sibu – a town in Sarawak, a part of Borneo Island
SOCSO – an organization in Malaysia to which employees contribute monthly and in case of accidents etc..SOCSO will pay a certain sum as compensation..like a group insurance scheme
Syabas – a phrase akin to congratulations
SYT – sweet young thing
Tebaloi – a type of biscuit made of sago flour loved by the Melanau community
Teh- c – tea with ideal milk
Teh – 0 – tea without sugar
Tongkang – A type of riverine vessel

How is Nenek pronounced? Can you spell it out phonetically please…
I dont have the phonetics sorry.. but it is pronounced like n? n?k. i am sorry my blog cannot write the phonetic symbols. but ne is as ne in never, nek is as ne in never but with a k sound.
